‘Mainstream’ Support for XP Ends Today

Microsoft will continue to offer limited ‘extended’ support until 2014.

Screen shot (straight)Did you see this announcement in today's papers? Well, I have a few words to say on the subject. My first question to Microsoft is, "what if I'm not Mainstream?"

You could say I’m not Mainstream

The truth is that I am a "Backwater" operation. It's only you and the income tax department that think I am Mainstream and treat me as such. My organization is me, one 2002 computer, one 2005 computer and a 2006 laptop. The fax is steam driven.

I need XP support

My organization works day and night and produces a fair amount of financial, engineering and anti-contamination output. It runs happily on your XP software and this morning coped easily with tests for the presence of Ethanol and Sodium Metasilicate in hospital operating theater environments. I cannot believe that whatever you plan to replace XP with, will do any better.

Please do not force me into talking huge Online Cash Advances from the Personal Money Store to replace my XP.

It's a conspiracy

The whole XP YP ZP thing is a huge conspiracy between Microsoft and Intel. These companies employ loads of people and they have to keep finding work for them. Intel looks at XP and says, we could make that go a lot faster if we added another gizmo to the chip and turned it on its back. In comes R&D, tests all the combinations and says right, it works. So they make the new chips and market them as "faster than the human eye can see". They passed the point of "faster than the human hand can type about 20 years ago". The new computer comes out. It has 'Intel Inside' and 'Made in China' outside. And this baby is fast! My typing speed remains constant at 30 miles an hour. I buy a desktop and a laptop. Yes, Payday Loans. ... click here to read the rest of the article titled "'Mainstrea m' Support for XP Ends Today"
