Will Selva, ESPN news anchor, charged with plagiarism

One anchor on the ESPN news network has been charged with plagiarism. Will Selva is an anchor for the ESPN news network. He has been accused of plagiarism in a script. Ding is an author for the Orange County Register. He was surprised, then, when his words were spoken as a part of his ESPN media script. Just because creating content takes time and effort doesn’t always mean it is profitable. This is just the latest event highlighting problems with content management online. News content can cost enough to require a lot of people to take out an installment loan just to purchase. Article source – ESPN anchor Will Selva accused of plagiarism by MoneyBlogNewz.

Will Selva plagiarizes getting him suspended

On the overnight program “Highlight Express,” anchor Selva talked about the Los Angeles Lakers versus San Antonio Spurs game. The same thing word for word was already written before though by Kevin Ding. This was in an Orange County Register column. Selva then never gave any credit while on the air. This got him in trouble. He did issue an apology on Wed for what he called a “mistake.”. He then explained that he had copied the column over to his script. He then “forgot to rewrite it” when researching. A statement was made by Will. He said:

“I made a horrible mistake, and I’m deeply sorry. I sincerely apologize for my sloppiness, especially to Kevin Ding, viewers and colleagues.”

Never an opportunity for redemption from will Selva

The ESPN network got Will Selva on leave indefinitely because of the plagiarism accusations. Dealing with plagiarism could be really hard for media outlets to deal with. It did not matter whether or not it was an accident. Recently, “Cooks Source” magazine has been caught taking information from online sources. Almost all sources online would get information stolen. There is constant online streaming with ESPN that is also a 24-hour news network. It makes a lot of sense that several would make an effort to plagiarize when in that situation. ESPN has said that it will take “appropriate action” in researching and addressing Will Selva’s mistake, however the bigger issue is whether there’s a strong enough system of content protection online. Many assume that plagiarism will never be fixed since online problems that like might never be fixed.
