What will anyone get from the NAACP and Tea Party fight?

Broadsides have been fired between the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The two sides are bickering over several things. The Tea Party is pushing racist messages, as outlined by the NAACP. The Tea Party says the NAACP is covering up for racism and criminal behavior in the New Black Panther Party. Pundits on both sides have begun to sound off.

What the NAACP said

You will find photos of Tea Party attendees holding signs that the NAACP, and numerous others, contend are racist. The sick and twisted individuals in question don’t necessarily represent the Tea Party movement, but the NAACP is assuming there’s guilt by association. In fact, Tea Party rally organizers are beginning to ban that sort from attending.

The Tea Party says

The Tea Party’s counter-claim is the NAACP is helping cover up an incident involving some members of the New Black Panther Party. The US Attorney’s office was investigation voting crimes committed by the NBPP that may are racially motivated around the 2008 election. The attorneys investigating were ordered to drop the case, and accusations of a cover up by Obama appointees started to surface.

Who’s the bad guy on this one?

The only thing this debate does is create more non-debates for Fox, MSNBC, and talk radio to jaw about and sell ad space. But while this is going to amount to more ad revenue for political pundits, the bickering back and forth doesn’t do anything to advance the cause of either side, and doesn’t do anything to combat real racism.
