Eagle followers wonder whether Michael Vick starting is long term

The Eagles may get Michael Vick as the starter

The circus surrounding Vick has been a headache to the NFL in the last few years. The Philadelphia Eagles took a significant amount of flak from numerous directions. To be fair, Vick had not even practiced in years. Vick did not play in many games, and mostly never more than a single series. However, Philadelphia is now without Kevin Kolb, the starting quarterback. Vick had to step up towards the Green Bay Packers. It may have actually been an improvement. He almost pulled off an upset. Based on how well Vick does in the role, he may end up becoming the starter for good. Post resource – Eagle fans wonder whether Michael Vick starting is permanent by Newystype.com.

Green Bay narrowly is the winner

The Green Bay Packers headed to Philadelphia for the first game of the season. Linebacker Stewart Bradley and quarterback Kevin Kolb both had to leave the field, having sustained concussions in the first half. In 2009, Vick had barely played a series and was put within the game. Vick put on a remarkable performance, as he nearly pulled off an upset victory over the Packers. There is significant buzz about the Packers, as they are thought to be Super Bowl contenders already. Vick, however, put up 175 yards passing, going 16 for 24, and scoring one touchdown. The next game could be against the Detroit Lions, and since neither Bradley or Kolb have passed clearance tests, Vick will be the starter.

To Detroit

As long as Kolb is out, Vick is the starter. That means he can be starting towards the Detroit Lions. Having to choose between Kolb and Vick is a problem you need to have, and Eagles coach Andy Reid may well have that problem should Vick perform well in Detroit. There is a consistent quality that Vick is known for. He is a scrambling, running quarterback. He isn’t really the traditional hang-out-in-the-pocket kind. Like other QBs of the type, like Steve Young, he can move to other spots with better passing opportunities easily, and evade tackles. This quality actually makes him a good match to the Eagles. The team uses a classic West Coast offense, and if he can consistently connect with receivers, it will make them a dangerous team.

Being determined

This is basically speculation. All speculation is, well, speculative. The Lions are desperate to do well again, and if Vick gives them a chance to beat someone badly they will try. If Vick can put up a similar performance in Detroit, he could potentially stay a starter for the Eagles.
