Talent competitions are all the rage on American television. The fifth “America’s Got Talent” season has just wrapped up. It was an interesting season, and also the “America’s Got Talent” final four were all incredible. The contest came down to Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock, Jackie Evancho and dance troupe Fighting Gravity. The last show featured invitee spots from entertainment heavyweights Jewel and Lionel Ritchie, making for a spectacle as strong as a brick house. Evancho was easily the preferred. A girl of only ten, with a powerful operatic voice belying her years and bringing comparisons to Susan Boyle. Nevertheless, those ideas were put paid. Michael Grimm walked away the victor.
Ending really worth watching
Just like previous years, the last episode of “America’s Got Talent” year five was quite something. The last four contestants staged their performances on Tuesday. Michael Grimm is kind of the singer/songwriter type, with a very bluesy tinge. Prince Poppycock sings pop songs in an operatic fashion, fusing Lady Gaga, Paul Revere and also the Raiders, and Kiss with the makeup and elaborate classical era costumes. Then there was Jackie Evancho. Evancho has been a sensation all year, as the tiny ten year old has a titanic voice. There was only one act that was not a vocalist. Fighting Gravity is a dance troupe made up of college students.
Last shows always have a Grimm undercurrent
The results get revealed on a retrospective and special performance episode, just like “American Idol.”. Piers Morgan pulled no punches on the ending, as outlined by Columbia Broadcasting System. He buzzed Prince Poppycock, who had been a crowd preferred all season. It wasn’t without reason though. Poppycock fairly much has one act, however with different songs. Evancho had the belief that she is only 10 years old on her side. That said, after so many ballads, individuals get bored. That has a lot to do with the outcome. Just a little variety of material is probably why Michael Grimm won “America’s Got Talent.” Singers triumph this show, as only one of the five winners has not been a singer. Buying a home for his grandparents is what Grimm has in mind for the winnings, as outlined by People.
Attendees steal the program
There were great invitee artists too. It certainly made the ending more entertaining. Poppycock performed with Donna Summer, Lionel Ritchie sang “Dancing on the Ceiling” for Fighting Gravity and Grimm performed a duet with Jewel, singing “Me and Bobby McGee.” It was a good year. The ending was awesome too.
