Is Android Tablet Next As Kindle For Android Takes On IPhone?

It was announced by Amazon that Kindle is going Android. Amazon is teaming up with Google this summer to give the iPhone a run for its money in e-reader functionality. The Kindle software is already offered by Amazon for the iPad, iPhone, Windows, Mac OS X, and Blackberry devices. Android already sells Amazon music and streaming movies with built-in apps. Except that it took so long to happen, Kindle on the Android isn't any kind of surprise. Some say an Android tablet could be next.

Kindle for Android downloads

Kindle for Android has downloads that are a key advantage. Fortune reports that Google’s Android environment, as open as no faxing payday loan compared to Apple’s, allows continuous Kindle for Android downloads. Seamlessly was the kindle bookstore built by Amazon into Android. Kindle books can be read on iPhone, but when users want to purchase an Amazon book on an iPhone, they have to leave Kindle, open the web browser, then buy the book with an Amazon account. Only then is the purchase transferred wirelessly to the iPhone.

Kindle for iPhone

Apple forces a workaround because it doesn't allow in app purchases through an iPhone from anyone besides apple. Amazon could very possibly sell e-books in Kindle for iPhone, but Apple takes a 30 percent pay cut. Android let Amazon build a storefront right inside Kindle for the Android, so Amazon can sell products directly in the product, without Android users leaving Kindle, and without Google taking a cut.

Kindle for Android features

Kindle for Android could be used on Droid Incredible, Google Nexus One, Motorola CLIQ, Motorola Droid, HTC MyTouch, and most other Android phones. Optimized for the Android phone with wireless delivery, users can purchase e-books from the kindle store. The beginnings of books are there to try for free before purchasing. Kindle newspapers, magazines and blogs won’t be accessible on Kindle for Android.

Will the Android tablet be next?

Beginning May 19, the Kindle for Android announcement precedes the Google I/O conference. Clint Boulton at eWeek reports that many of the buzz leading up to the event centers totally on Android. One thing that is very certain to launch at Google I/O is Android 2.2 which plans to give Kindle for Android a speed increase from previous operating systems. Google officials are also expected to talk about Android-based tablets. Verizon confirmed working with Google on Android based tablets.
