Kelly Blue Book says that new vehicle buyers are probably to consider a Ford

Most new auto buyers thinking about a Ford first

Kelly Blue Book, the main source for car purchasing and pricing info in the United States, has released its quarterly survey of new vehicle buyers. Though the study is not done scientifically, it is considered relatively authoritative. The preferences of vehicle buyers appear to be changing, with negative press having a significant effect. Shoppers ranked durability and reliability, driving comfort, fuel efficiency, driving performance and safety as the top five important factors when purchasing for a new vehicle.

Ford takes top honors

During this quarter last year, Toyota held the top spot in this survey. This quarter, the Kelly Blue Book survey shows that 29 percent of new automobile buyers are considering Ford cars. This is one more piece of proof that truck sales may well be increasing in the next few years.

Toyota drops to number 2

Toyota motors are showing the effects of numerous safety recalls over the last year. Even though these issues are well-known, 22 percent of people looking at a new car are considering a Toyota. High fuel efficiency is, in part, the reason for this very strong showing.Analysts also point to the “Swagger Wagon” advertising campaign as particularly successful.

Third place for Chevrolet

Just behind Toyota, 21 percent of new auto buyers are thinking about a Chevrolet vehicle. This increase in interest in Chevrolet could possibly be partially because of the Volt, despite the fact that there is a very high price tag. The reputation for safety in Chevrolet autos is a big part of the reason this brand did so well.

Fourth – Honda

Honda is doing very well on the list thanks to their reputation for saving fuel and being very reliable. One-fifth of people looking at purchasing a new automobile say they are considering a Honda car.

Hyundai sneaks into fifth place

South Korean carmaker Hyundai ousted competitor Nissan for the fifth place this year. Well-known fuel sippers, Hyundai cars are being considered by 13 percent of vehicle buyers.
