Martin Freeman at last thrown in lead position for The Hobbit

Years of delays has slowed production on “The Hobbit,” however the head role has finally been thrown. The lead goes to Freeman, who’ll portray Bilbo Baggins. Freeman is well known for his role in “The Office,” the sitcom that had been remade within the United States, and became a smash success. Studio difficulties and a labor dispute in New Zealand have held up production for some time.

Baggins can be played by Martin Freeman

Bilbo Baggins in “The Hobbit” will be played by Martin Freeman based on Peter Jackson. In the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, the role was played by Ian Holm. The book, “The Hobbit” is the prelude, or prequel, to the “Lord of the Rings” series. BBC, accounts that the majority of the main roles are thrown as the thrown is coming together. It is likely that some actors from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy can be resuming their roles, including Hugo Weaving as Elrond and Ian McKellan as Gandalf. Andy Serkis will even return as Gollum. There could be two different parts to the film. They will be released within a year of one another.

Film plagued with troubles

Recently, a labor dispute between the studio and an actor’s union in New Zealand held up production, according to ABC. Scouting for locations has begun in Britain, where a soundstage in a former Rolls Royce factory, used for the Harry Potter films, is available. Should the filming not take place in New Zealand, it’s estimated that up to $1.5 billion in revenue for New Zealand might be lost. The movie industry is good for New Zealand. Over 1 percent of the gross domestic product in the country comes from the movie industry.

After waiting, it might take place

”Development hell” is what “The Hobbit” movie version was said to be lost in. Originally, Guillermo Del Toro had been attached to direct, but left the movie earlier this year. Should filming of the “The Hobbit” film commence next year, the 2 halves of the film should be released in Dec of 2012 and 2013.
