Decembrow: Simply because a unibrow will progress feminist causes

Feministing.com wants women to toss the wax and tweezers and let those unibrows grow – for vaguely defined charitable reasons. Just like famous artist Frida Kahlo, Feministing.com readers and others who want to join ought to allow the wax and tweezers go in a show of support for those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Critics – and eager participants – may have all month to determine the importance of the "Decembrow." Article resource – Decembrow unibrow aims to promote cancer awareness by Money Blog Newz.

Movember is the initial step for you to get to Decembrow

Decembrow is reportedly the female response to last month’s "Movember," in which men were encouraged to grow mustaches to raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer research. According to the Daily Caller, Feministing.com wants women to get in on the grooming for charity act (or lack of grooming, depending upon one’s perspective). Herbal aids and even eyebrow pencils are considered acceptable.

It could possibly be argued that the Decembrow can make a more dramatic statement on a woman than Movember did on men, but that is not the point of the campaign. Feministing.com explains:

"While women in the U.S. generally rock two groomed brows, I say let's be inspired by Movember and take this opportunity to let our facial hair grow … for a cause."

The position Decembrow will be there for

Since Feministing.com sponsors the Decembrow campaign, many think it’s about furthering feminism. This is what CEO Penny Nance of Concerned Women for The United States thinks. Nance and others are having trouble finding the connection, despite the charitable aspect, accounts the Daily Caller.

"While I applaud the (Movember) effort to raise awareness and funds to stop prostate cancer, I find it curious that feminists would choose to embrace facial hair and wonder how that is different than any other month of the year," said Nance.

Author and columnist Erica Jong responded in similar fashion when asked for comment by the Daily Caller, saying that she "(applauds) anything that galvanizes females to show the power (they) have and often fail to use." Focusing on facial appearances is something that Jong said was foolish with Decembrow. She suggests something like women's and childrens’ welfare be the primary focus instead.
