Enemies poisoning buffets was real terror plot

Terrorism on United States soil has been a no-go since 9/11, however here’s something that could have come to a Golden Corral or similar restaurant near you. Reports indicate that a key U.S. intelligence source has labeled the threat of enemies poisoning buffets as “credible”. This has understandably set the U.S. hospitality industry on full alert.

Terrorists poisoning buffets has food sector on defend

As outlined by the Department of Homeland Security, several key members of the United States hotel and restaurant community have met with the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration concerning the threat of terrorists poisoning buffets and other foods. Being safe rather than sorry is the primary objective for U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. She has stated that her department “operates under the premise that individuals prepared to carry out terrorist acts are in this country.”

Ricin and Cyanide used in ‘Operation Hemorrhage’

As outlined by CBS news, a plan for this to be carried out was found earlier this year but was stopped. Terrorists from al Qaeda would have used the poisons ricin and cyanide to taint various salad bars and buffets. There has been a few cargo attacks around the globe, and internet al Qaeda propaganda suggests that this would be an extension of those attacks. The title, Operation Hemorrhage, is aimed at creating many small attacks in an attempt to generate a large scale economic problem.

Cyanide and ricin can evidently be taught how for making on many websites that are enemy affiliated. Initial symptoms would encounter simply as food poisoning which really helped point the direction to al Qaeda, combined with the method of manufacturing the drug. Dr. Susan Ford, a St. John’s University professor of pharmaceutical sciences, states that 250 milligrams is all it takes to die.
