Why, Santa? Why burglarize a yacht club?

As Christmas 2010 approaches, it appears that Santa’s sleigh is somewhat lighter than it has been in years past. Retail sales are better than last year, however Santa is running an entirely different operation. He needs to make a change. Sadly, seems like that change might have involved illegal activity. Based on The Providence Journal, "Santa Claus robs yacht club," a sorry sign of modern times.

Is Santa stealing from the wealthy to give to poor people: or just to give to his pocket?

Is this robbery going to help people choose if there really there is a Santa Claus? Robbing a liquor store would be one thing, however when Saint Nick robs a yacht clubhouse, you know he’s kicking it upscale. Lt. Raymond Blinn of the Providence Police Department noted that on Sunday at about 7 p.m. a man dressed as Santa entered the East Providence Yacht Clubhouse on Pier Road. His gift of toys was not to give away, however rather to fill up with money. It was noted that Saint Nick was not so saintly when he pulled out what appeared to be a gun of some type.

Fortunately nobody was injured at the yacht clubhouse, and Santa did not become a total Grinch and didn't even fire his gun.

Might have been a lethal Christmas

Buckshot isn’t typically associated with Santa Claus, which makes this craven display of felonious holiday cheer all the more jarring. Many wonder why Santa Claus would do something so horrendous. This Terrible Santa Claus did forget to change his pants, as he was wearing jeans. You would think a man who can fly up and down chimneys would not need a gun or conduct his robberies during business hours.

Local authorities continue to investigate this situation, but Santa Claus did get away with some green within the mean time.
