It's Right Around Earth Day 2010

Earth-5

April 22 will be Earth Day 2010. Earth Day 2010, and indeed each and every Earth Day, is a good time to bear in mind all of us should be good custodians to the environment. After all, our kids take over exactly what we leave behind, and I certainly do not want my legacy to be litter. There are also some good Earth Day Activities for Kids, if you would like to contain the little ones. Plenty of things you can do are incredibly cost-effective, so doing something for Earth Day won’t make need debt relief.

Earth Day started April 22, 1970

The first Earth Day was a teach in. Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson announced the idea at several rallies in fall of 1969. With the help of media coverage and organizers, a grassroots effort for environmental advocacy took off. Rallies, and teach ins at colleges and universities all took place on April 22 1970. 20 million people partook, and Earth Day and Earth week were born. The idea caught on, and April 22 is observed as Earth Day worldwide.

So what should I do??|Just what can I do}?}

There are plenty of activities that will properly commemorate Earth Day 2010. You can start a compost pile with grass clippings and old leaves. You are able to plant a tree – they spruce (pun intended) up a yard and add property value. (Check out the Arbor Day Foundation for more on that.) Try some recycling. For recycling certain materials, you can make some cash till payday.One couple is paying for their wedding with recycled cans and made national headlines with their project Wedding Cans.

The EPA on Earth Day

The website for the Environmental Protection Agency has some activities in mind. They suggest individuals Pick 5 for the Environment, and list activities one can do to conserve water, air, power and waste, as well as advocacy activities. The EPA site has some good tips for that.
