Krista Brewer proves William Blake right. Blake, an English poet wrote that “some are born to endless night” and Krista seems to have been born living proof. At age 4, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which she courageously fought for the next seven years.
She passed almost exactly one year ago, in September 2008. Her family still lives in the area of Galveston, TX. Brain cancer is one of the less common cancers, and there is a higher prevalence of mortality in diagnosed children, and treatment costs more than a few payday loans. (The immune systems of children aren’t fully developed and therefore more fragile – the highest risk groups are always children and the elderly.) One hopes that the family of Krista Brewer can find some peace.
